Number 2 in a series of home dubbed C45 bootleg tapes.

Experimental in nature, created for the curious and non-audiophiles everywhere. The series will include demos, jams, field recordings, live recordings, experiments and other anomalies which wouldn't normally be considered for a Pulselovers release 'proper'.

Adjust your expectations accordingly.

Side 1 was recorded between the 15th - 18th of February 2023 and was created in real time on Giorgio Sancristoforo's Berna 3 software. This is a stand alone programme which has emulations of electronic testing equipment that early sound explorers used in the 1950s, years before the first synths arrived. It doesn't have any keyboards, sequencers or programming capabilities, just a series of oscillators, filters, amplifiers, pulse generators and tape recorders which have to be manually connected via two matrices. I was given the tip off to this incredible bit of kit by Keith Seatman, who I'll be blaming for my lack of sleep over the coming weeks... it's really addictive.

Side 2 is made up of modular jams, quickly recorded demos using Korg Volca Beats and my trusty Bass Station 2 dirtied up via the Make Noise Strega, a couple of scraps from the archive and an unheard version of the track 4Loops from a couple of years ago.

REALLY wish I'd subscribed sooner to be able to enjoy this on vinyl! Curious the artist cited 12 Monkeys and not La Jetee as one of the key inspirations. For me, this has a more somber, introspective and timeless feel more akin to La Jetee than 12 Monkeys (though I also am a big fan of Terry Gilliam). Gorgeous music and you get the bonus of a list of excellent movies to enjoy (another note to the artist: Time Crimes is also a good film to watch). Now to somehow procure a vinyl copy...
